About Progynova: Progynova (Oestradiol Valerate) is a form of synthetic hormone created in tablet form. Each tablet has 2 mg of the active ingredient; Estradiol Valerate. The medicine is packed in two blister pack strips with each having 28 tablets each with the day inscribed on top. This medication is widely used hormonal replacement therapy (HRT)which involves the use of artificial hormones to cater for the functions abandoned by the natural hormone deficiency. It is used in the treatment of low hormone levels in women, especially during menopause. It can also be prescribed for relief against vaginal dryness and itching caused by menopause. Symptoms of menopause barred by this medication include; sleeping problems, night sweats, hot flashes, changes in mood, mucocutaneous involution.
How to use Progynova
During hormonal replacement therapy(HRT), Progynova (Oestradiol Valerate) is used in small amounts and for a short period. A physician should be able to assess the treatment program and readjust the dosage. This medication can be taken before or after meals. It is advised to take the medication at the same time every day to encourage remembering. Normally, the medication is taken once in a day, but patients should not ignore a doctor’s prescription. If the patient still has menstrual bleeding, they are advised to take Progynova (Oestradiol Valerate) on the fifth day on bleeding to best execute the treatment program.
