About Olmecip: Olmecip (Olmesarta Medoxomil) is a medicine prescribed to patients suffering from high blood pressure which is commonly referred to as hypertension. This drug is classified as an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. These are those medicines that prevent the narrowing (constriction) of blood vessels including veins and arteries. In the process, it helps reduce symptoms related to blood pressure. The medicine may also be used to treat other conditions which will be specified by your physician during prescription.
How to use Olmecip
You should only use this medicine if it has been prescribed for you. The medicine is available in tablets which should not be crushed, chewed or dissolved. They can be taken with or without food or as per the instructions by the doctor. For both cases, take at least 8 ounces of water each time you take the medicine. Read the instructions label carefully before starting to use this medicine. If there is any part which is unclear, consult your doctor for accurate information. Use alcohol with caution when using this medicine to treat hypertension or other conditions. Do no indulge in activities that will require a high level of concentrations.
Olmecip Dosage

Olmecip Side Effects
When using Olmecip, it is possible to experience the occurrence of side effects. The side effects may be common or severe with the most common ones not being a cause for alarm as they soon fade. However, you are required to report to your physician as soon as you notice the occurrence of any of these side effects which are rated severe: swelling of legs, ankles or other parts of your body due to fluid retention, persistent coughs, bronchitis, back pains, arthritis, chest pains, symptoms related to common cold or flu, dizziness and drowsiness, fatigue, balance problems relating to your inner ear also referred to as vertigo, development of skin rashes, symptoms of high levels of uric acid in the body(hyperuricaemia), signs of increased levels of potassium in the blood also referred to as hyperkalaemia, hypertriglyceridaemia which refers to high levels of triglycerides in the blood, red urine (haematuria) and signs of urinary tract infection. This may not be the full list of side effects and you should ask further details on the same from your physician.
Olmecip Precautions
The use of Olmecip (Olmesarta Medoxomil) has been known to be harmful to unborn babies hence pregnant women and those trying to conceive should inform their doctor before starting to use this medicine. It has not been established whether the medicine can be passed through breast milk though it is advised for breastfeeding patients to talk to their doctors about the risk before commencing on your treatment with this drug. You may also not be suitable to use or require adjustments on your dosage if you have any of these problems;
- Are suffering from or have any history of kidney disease
- Have ever suffered or are currently ailing from liver disease
- Are using supplements such as a potassium-sparing diuretic or other medicines, including prescriptions, non-prescriptions and herbal medicine.
- Are restricted from in-taking salt are have been found to have high levels of potassium in your blood.
