About Zole-F: Zole-F Ointment (Miconazole/Fluocinolone) is a medicine indicated for persons suffering from fungal or parasitic infections. This topical drug is known to treat conditions expressing parasitic or fungal properties. Fungi contain a substance known as ergosterol, this is an important part of the fungal cell membrane and is the substance that the medicine fights. Effective control of ergosterol would mean that fungal cells are unable to grow or reproduce any further, and this allows the body’s defense mechanism to work on the fungi and limit their effectiveness of the body. Most popular conditions that medicine is used to treat include eczema, psoriasis, athlete’s foot, ringworm, jock itch and other conditions that your physician will prescribe you for. It is important to keep in mind that this medicine is not effective in the treatment of viral infections which may include chicken pox, rosacea, herpes or acne.
How to use Zole-F
This medicine should only be used if it has been prescribed to you for treatment by a doctor. Ensure that you have been taken through on your first use and if you need any clarifications, consult your doctor immediately. Remember to always clean your hands and the area that the medicine will be applied and leave both to dry naturally. 3-5 minutes after drying, take a small amount of the ointment and gently massage it in the affected area. Do not cover unaffected areas or use much amount of this medicine as this can lead to unwanted side effects. Just leave a small layer of the cream and leave it to dry naturally. Wash your hands after that to prevent the spread of the medicine to other unaffected areas.
Zole-F Dosage
This medicine will only be prescribed for patients above the age of 12years as it is not safe for use for kids below that age. Your doctor will indicate how many times you should apply for the medicine and for how long. For adult patients, the typical dosage is two applications each day consecutively for up to two weeks. By then results should be visible and if no improvements are noted, consult your doctor. Do not extend your use of this medicine as it is not meant for long term use. Your physician is the only allowed person to alter your dosage.
Zole-F Side Effects
It is possible for patients using Zole-F Ointment (Miconazole/Fluocinolone) to treat their conditions to develop undesired side effects. You are advised to report any side effect that you may experience to your physician immediately. This includes when some of these common side effects persist or become worse; blistering, development of stretch marks, pimples, peeling, headaches, nausea, burning sensations and crusting. Severe side effects are also possible but rare. Watch out for these severe side effects during your treatment; abnormal weight gain, unusual tiredness of the body, weak and painful muscles, mood swings, change in vision, lack of sleep among other side effects that have not been listed here.
