About Valgan: Valgan (Valganciclovir) is an antiviral medication used in the treatment of cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis in patients who have contracted AIDS. This medication works by preventing virus cells from growing while stopping the spread of the infection. Valgan (Valganciclovir) can be used to reduce chances of cytomegalovirus CMV in patients who have undergone an organ transplant. It is important to note that Valgan (Valganciclovir) is effective in reducing the growth and spread of the virus but cannot cure the disease. Valgan (Valganciclovir) can also be used in the treatment of CMV in the heart and kidney.

How to use Valgan


Valgan (Valganciclovir) is present in tablet form. It is taken orally with a glass of water. The drug is taken the whole. It should not be crushed, chewed or broken while administering as this may affect the absorption of the drug into the body. Patients are advised to take this medication after taking a meal to avoid stomach upsets.
