About VOMISTOP : Vomistop is a medicine used in the treatment of nausea, vomiting and also used in promoting the breast milk production soon after the baby birth in women. It is also called as an anti-emetic drug. The active ingredient of this medication is Domperidone 10 mg. It is a dopamine D2 and D3 receptor antagonist. It compresses the vomiting center in the central nervous system and helps in stopping nausea and vomiting. Domperidone is also used for the conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease, diabetic gastroparesis where is delayed emptying of stomach contents, poor digestion in Parkinson`s disease, functional dyspepsia and acid reflux in babies.

How to use VOMISTOP


Vomistop 10mg comes in a strip of 10 tablets. It is not an over the counter drug, and should not be taken without the doctor`s prescription. The dose depends on the severity of the diseases and the patient`s condition. It can treat the common symptoms like nausea, vomiting, bloated abdomen, the fullness of stomach and other gastric symptoms associated with nausea and vomiting.

VOMISTOP Dosage


Vomistop 10 mg to be taken 2 to 3 times per day along with the water until the symptoms subside or as directed by the physician. It should be taken before food for its effectiveness to stop nausea and vomiting. The maximum dose for an adult is 80mg in a day. And for the children above 12 years of age or whose weight is above 35 kgs 250-500mcg / kg for 3 to 4 times in a day. This medicine is administered both orally and rectally. Do not alter the dose of the drug unless prescribed. Do not double the dose as it may cause severe drowsiness and prolonged sleep.

  • VOMISTOP Precautions


    Any history of medical illness like severe cardiac problems allergy to any drugs and liver diseases to be informed to the doctor before the medicine prescription.

    Do not operate the machinery or drive yourself after taking medicine as this causes severe drowsiness.

    Keep the drug out of the reach of the children and pets as this may lead to a medical emergency.

    Discontinue the medicines, if there is black, hard and blood mixed stools after taking the drugs as it may be an indication of intestinal injury.

    Patients with pre -cardiac conditions or any renal diseases, should be regularly monitored for vital parameters such as renal functions test and ECG to avoid any risks like prolonged QT interval, atrial fibrillation and for any arrhythmia.
