About Telma : Telma 20mg is a medicine used for treating the high blood pressure in the adults. It also helps in decreasing the death rate with cardiovascular complications and the diabetic kidney disease. It has the active ingredient called Telmisartan 20 mg. This Telmisartan helps in the relaxation of the blood vessels thereby lowering the blood pressure levels and an excess load of the heart making it work normally. It is an Angiotensin II receptor blocker. Once the medicine is taken, it acts for 24 hours and can still be measured up to 48 hours. When Telma 20 mg is taken for anti-hypertension, it reduces and maintains the normal values of blood pressure levels by 4-8 weeks after the start of the treatment and is continued during long-term therapy.
How to use Telma
Telma 20mg comes in a strip of 10 tablets and to be taken only when prescribed. As it relaxes the blood vessels, medicine taken without prescription can lower hypertension levels suddenly. Any doubts regarding the drugs and the dosage should be clarified with the doctor or the pharmacist before the administration of the drug. The dosages are regulated by patient`s blood pressure levels, cardiac complications and on the patient`s response to the treatment. It has got the shelf life of 3 years and to be stored in the original package and protected from direct sunlight.
Telma Dosage
The regular dose advised by the doctor is once per day. It has to be taken preferably in the early morning before or after food and orally along with water. The next dose should be taken at the same time as late or discontinuation may shoot up the blood pressure levels immediately. Many new patients of hypertension usually benefit by the 20mg dose, but it may alter according to their health conditions too.

Telma Precautions

Other medicines like NSAID`s (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), other diuretics and the use of corticosteroids should not be done as it may reduce the efficiency of the tablet.
Patients should also be cautious while driving the vehicle or during operating the machinery as there may be dizziness or vertigo occasionally after the medication.
The patient should also be careful regarding the overdose of the drug as it may result in the renal failure, hypotension, and tachycardia.
It is also marked unsafe of taking alcohol during the therapy as it may lead to a decrease in the blood pressure levels.
