About Siterone: Siterone (Cyproterone Acetate) is a medicine indicated for patients suffering from prostate cancer. The medicine has also been found effective when prescribed for patients suffering from sexual aggression mostly sexual offenders. For women, the medicine is effective in curing symptoms of androgenisation which define the overproduction of androgens. The medicine can also be used as a combination with other medicine in feminization process which is used for male to female transsexuals. Your physician may prescribe this medicine for other conditions not listed here.
How to use Siterone
Siterone (Cyproterone Acetate) comes as a tablet that should only be administered orally. Your doctor will direct you on how to take the medicine. If there are no special instructions to your prescriptions, you should take your tablets with a snack or after a meal. Take plenty of water together with every dose. To ensure that you do not miss a dose, take each dose at specific times, for instance after every 12 hours if you have been prescribed to take the tablets at least twice in a day. Swallow the tablets whole and do not split, crush, chew or dissolve them. This only hastens their absorption in the body and consequently reduces their ineffectiveness in treatment.
Siterone Dosage

This is because each dose depends on some things including other medicines that the patient is currently taking (prescriptions, non-prescriptions, herbal or supplements), the patient’s health condition, medical history, the condition being treated and its severity. Siterone Side Effects

Some common side effects associated with Siterone (Cyproterone Acetate) include irregular heartbeats, bloody or darkened urine, confusion, painful urination, abnormal thirstiness, mental or mood changes, ulcers, sore throats, stiff necks, stomach cramps, hallucinations, blurred vision, abnormal sweating, weakness and general tiredness, wheezing and yellowing of skin. These are rare side effects that require urgent attention by your doctor. There are other less serious but more common side effects, and these include breast tenderness, decreased libido, excess breast milk and increased appetite for sexual interactions. These should, however, fade with continued dosage. Should they persist or worsen, notify your doctor immediately.
Siterone Precautions
If you have ever experienced any allergic reactions using Siterone (Cyproterone Acetate) or any of its active ingredients, discuss with your doctor about the risks of using this medicine for treatment of your condition. The medicine may also not be suitable to;
- Pregnant women, or those trying to get pregnant or are breastfeeding
- Persons with known liver conditions or jaundice
- Persons who are diabetic or are taking antidiabetics or insulin
- Persons suffering from venous thrombosis, cerebral vascular accident or thromboembolic disorders
Stop using this medicine immediately you notice any signs of allergic reactions which include chest tightness, experienced difficulties in breathing or swallowing, abnormal swelling due to fluid retention, skin rashes, and hives.
