Simlup (Simvastatin) belongs to a group of drugs known as HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, shortly known as ""statins."" It is used to reduce the level of ""bad"" cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood and increase the levels of the beneficial cholesterol which is high in lipoprotein or HDL. As such, Simlup (Simvastatin) lowers the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other heart complications in patients with coronary heart conditions, diabetes, or other risk factors.
It is important that you take Simlup (Simvastatin) as instructed by the doctor. The tablets are taken orally with water. Consume the medicine in the required amounts and period to avoid side effects that come with consuming large quantities of the drug. Do not alter the structure of the tablets or self-medicate yourself.
Patients are required to visit the doctor before they start using this medicine.
