About Rcifax:

Rcifax (Rifaximin) defines an antibiotic widely used to treat bacterial infections in the intestines that are responsible for a number of forms of diarrhea with the most common one being traveler’s diarrhea. The mechanism used by Rcifax is simple in that it inhibits further development and spread of bacteria in the patient’s intestines. This medication is strongly not recommended for use by patients suffering from influenza or bloody diarrhea.

How to use Rcifax

Rcifax is available as tablets that should be taken orally. It should be swallowed with a glass of water after every 8 hours for three consecutive days. Self-prescription of the drug is greatly discouraged, and patients should only use this medication once they have been approved and prescribed for by their physicians. If there is no improvement in your symptoms and are through with your dosage, you should not continue with another dosage. Instead, you should consult your physician who will assess you and how you responded to the treatment and prescribed for you an alternative medication or a new prescription depending on how they judge your status. Missed doses of the medicine should always be taken as soon as you remember and continue with the 8hours gap from there.

Rcifax Dosage

Every Rcifax tablet contains 200mg of rifaximin which is the active ingredient in this medication. Rifaxinin can only be used to treat bacteria normally ingested together with contaminated food or water. A good example of a bacterium that Rcifax treats is E.Coli, which is grouped as non-invasive bacteria. For an adult, a full dosage will consist of an average of 1800mg of three days. This is a daily intake of 600mg equally divided within 24 hours, and this means a tablet every 8 hours continuously for three days. This however is not the ultimate Prescription guide for the medicine, and patients are advised to consult their physicians for their prescriptions. In instances where the initial dosage does not achieve the desired results, your physician may decide to increase the dosage or combine the medicine with other alternatives for the treatment. However, your physician decides, you are advised to adhere strictly.
