Orligal (Orlistat) is administered to aid patients to lose weight by cutting down on fat absorption into the body. It is also useful in treating patients that are dangerously overweight and at risk of conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes
The prescribed dosage of Orligal (Orlistat) is one tablet to be taken orally with a glass of water at each meal time. This treatment is prescribed with a mildly reduced-calorie diet that contains no more than 30 % calories from fat. Avoid opening or dissolving the content of the capsule to avoid damaging effect on the content.
Orligal Side Effects
side effects usually occur within the first few weeks of using Orligal (Orlistat) which tends to subside later as the treatment progresses. Side effects may include oily spotting, gas discharge, fatty or oily stools, an increased number of bowel movement. All these indicates the activity of the drug and it only occurs during the early stages of the treatment. Contact your physician immediately if you experience concerning symptoms.
