About Lupizol: Lupizol (Lansoprazole) - 30mg (10 Capsules) is used in the treatment of heartburn. It belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors. These work primarily by decreasing production of acid in the stomach. Lupizol 30mg controls the pH of the stomach and is used to treat other stomach conditions including; oesophagitis, stomach ulcers, intestinal ulcers and managing zollinger-ellison syndrome which increases acid production in the stomach. Other ailments alleviated by Lupizol tablets are multiple endocrine adenomas (tumors of the endocrine system), systemic mast cell syndrome, erosive esophagitis, and H. Pylori infection.

Lupizol Side Effects

Some side effects include diarrhea, stomach ache, nausea and vomiting, muscle and joint pain, headache, irregular heartbeat and lower appetite. Lupizol Precautions

Inform your doctor if you are using any medicine before getting a prescription. Lupizol reacts negatively with clopidogrel, ketoconazole and similar anti-fungal medicine and methotrexate. If you are using Warfarin, the doctor should closely monitor you and adjust the dosage accordingly. Side effects like swelling, unusual bleeding and blood in the urine are a result of the Lupizol interacting with Warfarin. Similar caution should be taken if you are already using Nelfinavir and similar antivirals and Digoxin (used to treat heart disease) as well.

Avoid consuming too much alcohol because it increases the acid levels in the stomach. People with liver disease should inform the doctor for appropriate adjustment to the dosage. Patients with low levels of magnesium (hypomagnesia) should be monitored as well as those suffering from osteoporosis. If you experience any adverse side effects due to food, beverage, medicine and disease interactions, call your doctor immediately.
