About Lanoxin: The drug can be identified under the trade name of Lanoxin 250mcg tablets. The main active ingredient is known as Digoxin. It is manufactured by a company known as Lannett. It belongs to a group of cardiac glycosides. These substances work by reducing the rate of heartbeat. In the event, it makes the heart to muscle to contract so that it can continue to work efficiently.
How to use Lanoxin
Patients that are suffering from heart failure and irregular heartbeats and rhythm are the major beneficiaries of this drug. Once the doctor has prescribed this for you, you should ensure that you take it continuously until a test is conducted to verify if the heartbeat condition has been corrected.
Lanoxin Dosage
Swallow the tablets as a whole without splitting, crushing or dissolving it water. Initially, the doctor may subject you to single doses then you can proceed to a maintenance dose as he/she monitors your progress. This is usually taken in divided doses.
The instructions from the doctor or as indicated on the medical leaflet should be followed to the letter. This means that the patient needs to continue taking the drugs even after showing signs of improvement. Lanoxin Side Effects

Lanoxin Precautions
Discontinue use of this drug if you have suffered from liver problems, heart rhythm disorders, and or kidney failures. Also, confirm with your doctor if you have encountered stomach or bowel problems, low blood potassium, breathing difficulties or any recent heart attack incidences.
It is not advisable to self-medicate or to manipulate the dosage. The doctor can tell whether it should be increased or not. Any case of hypersensitivity should also not go unreported since it may cause other problems. The patient may feel better within two weeks into the therapy. However, this is not reason enough to discourage them from completing the entire dosage.
