About Gravol: Gravel is the main brand name, and it contains an active ingredient known as Dimenhydrinate. It exists in unopened blister packs of 10 tablets per dose. It is manufactured by a company known as Wallace Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd, India. It is similar to diphenhydramine hydrochloride, but the only difference is that one of them has a low potency level. It also exists in the form of IM injections which is presented in sterile saline and 5% dextrose found in water. Chewable tablets for children are also available.
How to use Gravol
It belongs to a group of drugs known as antihistamines. It is mainly used to treat cases of nausea, motion sickness, excessive vomiting that emanate from chemotherapy and surgery procedures. People who have sleeping disorders can also take advantage of the drug. However, nausea caused by pregnancy cannot be treated using the medicine because of its chemical components. To control the symptoms caused by surgery, the user should take at least 50mg to 100mg within a day. On the other hand, those that are experiencing motion sickness should also take it in 50mg to 100mg 30 minutes before their departure. Within an hour of consumption, the patient should be able to experience decreased signs and symptoms.
Gravol Dosage
It is advisable to take one or two tablets an interval of 4 hours before or after meals. Children can also take it in chewable tablets as long as they fall between the ages of 6 and 12 years.Do not take more than 400mg tablets in a span of 24hours. In the case of a missed dose, take the drug as soon as you remember.
Gravol Side Effects
Patients that have these symptoms may experience the following side effects after consuming the drug; drowsiness, coughs, dizziness, painful urination, tonsillitis, extreme fatigue and hyper activeness in children.
Gravol Precautions
It is not advisable to recommend the drug for your friend or loved one that displays signs of the same problem since you may not tell the extent of the problem. If you are suffering from glaucoma, lung diseases or increased urination, then you should avoid taking it. Also in case you fall pregnant, are breastfeeding or trying to conceive, then you should discontinue the use. You should desist from operating machines or driving after consuming the drug since dizziness and drowsiness are the main side effects. Always store is at room temperature away from children. Avoid taking alcohol or any other nonprescription drug since it may worsen the side effects that you are already experiencing. Children below the age of five years should not take the drug without seeking approval from the physicians. Parents and caregivers need to consult their doctors in case they plan on seeking treatment for their children.
