Each Gestin tablet contains 5 milligrams of Allylestrenol which is the active component in the drug. The drug works similarly to the progesterone in the body. It links with progesterone and estrogen receptors targeting the female reproductive system, the hypothalamus, and pituitary gland. They act by reducing the amount and rate which gonadotrophin and pre-ovulatory luteinizing hormone (LH) are produced preventing miscarriages and pregnancy loss.
