About Gabapin: Gabapin (Gabapentin) is a medication prescribed for use along with other medications in the treatment of seizures with limited symptoms or what is otherwise known as partial seizures. In some cases, it is also prescribed for the treatment of general seizures which leads to loss of consciousness.

How to use Gabapin

Prescriptions for taking this medicine should be obtained from the doctor. Normally, patients are required to take the medicine at least three times in a day, but this varies. If your doctor has not given you any special instructions, you may take the tablets with or without food, remember to take a full glass of water whichever way to decide to take the medicine. Gabapin tablets are more effective when taken wholly as compared to when crushed, split, dissolved or chewed. This is because the ingredients of this medicine are meant to be absorbed slowly in the body and interfering with the tablet would only lead to fast absorption. Remember to complete your dose as given to you by your physician. The length of treatment normally depends on with your response to therapy as well as the condition under treatment.

Gabapin Dosage

For patients suffering mild symptoms of seizures, this medicine is prescribed in dosages to be taken not less than thrice each day. Each dose should be taken at spaced intervals which in this case would be after every 8 hours every day until the dose is complete. As soon as you start using this medicine, it is not recommended to go 12 hours or more without taking the medicine for an effective treatment of your condition.
