How to use Cetcip

Take as directed by your doctor: Cetirizine is available in tablet, capsule, chewable tablet, and liquid form. Follow the specific dosing instructions provided by your healthcare provider or on the product label.
With or without food: Cetirizine can be taken with or without food. If it causes stomach upset, take it with food.
Timing: It is usually taken once a day at the same time every day.
Chewable tablets: If using chewable tablets, chew them thoroughly before swallowing.
Liquid form: Use a proper measuring device (not a household spoon) to ensure accurate dosing.
Note: Cetirizine typically starts working within an hour and its effects can last up to 24 hours.

Cetcip Dosage

The dosage of Cetirizine varies depending on age, health condition, and medical history. Always follow your healthcare provider’s recommendations.

Typical Dosage for Allergy Symptoms
Adults and children 6 years and older: 5 mg to 10 mg once daily, depending on the severity of the symptoms.
Adults over 65 years: 5 mg once daily (as older adults may be more sensitive to the drug).
Children 2 to 5 years old: 2.5 mg once daily. If needed, the dose may be increased to 5 mg per day, given either as 2.5 mg every 12 hours or 5 mg once daily.
Children under 2 years: Consult a doctor for proper dosing.
Note: The maximum recommended dose for adults is 10 mg per day. Reducing the dose may be necessary for people with kidney or liver problems.

Kidney disease: Cetirizine is primarily eliminated through the kidneys, and dosage adjustments may be necessary.
Liver disease: Impaired liver function may affect how your body processes the medication.
Allergies to cetirizine or hydroxyzine: Hydroxyzine is a related antihistamine, and cross-reactivity may occur.
Pregnancy or breastfeeding: Cetirizine is generally considered safe during pregnancy, but you should consult your doctor. It may pass into breast milk, so consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding.
Any other serious health conditions: Such as heart problems, as cetirizine can affect heart rhythm in rare cases.
